Yes I am back to 'normal' and my desk bears evidence that once again I can co-ordinate my eyes, hands and brain. My personal memory box brain is finally playing ball....
on my desk:
Memory box Instructions
The Beetroot Tree (links are on the community tab up at the top of the blog page) are raising money for the Alzheimer's Society, by selling templates for memory boxes. The boxes then go on display in the gallery.
this here is my version of the house, tomorrow I will do the art deco box, then I will take the boxes over to The Tree to be put on display ... it is only three pounds for the template,
if you are not local, you can do it over the web, and if you send a photograph they will display your work on their website.
This box is in memory of Sarah...inside is one of her miniature cats, and perfumes, and some of her favorite beads,
I made fabric from Hot Fix angelina fibres and layers it with tissue paper and sheer fabric, stitched the box edges ( where you would glue if it was made from paper), applied 'frills of fabric' and then hand sewed the embellishments.
Julia has the launch pad for desk hopping, join in if you can, once I get back from work I will be catching up with all the workdesks...
